This is my version of the portrait of johnny depp as captain jack from pirates of the caribbean
FINALLY! its finished after about 18months, this was supposed to be my girlfriends christmas present 2 christmas' ago (yup going to hell) but now im done and ill be framing it for her asap shes made up with it hehe.
It took about 50 - 60 hours in total to do all the fiddly bits.
The final scan was in 3 parts and then chopped together in photoshop :/ so its not as good as in real life
Was done on crappy printer paper too as i was a bit of a novice in presentation of drawings when i started this. I used mech pencils from F to 4B and 0.3mm to 0.5mm and some cotton wool buds for smoothing.
well on this drawing i used graphite and there is a shine on it but when i scanned it it wasnt there cus i adjusted the levels back to how it should be with the scan software so maybe try that?? i also have a mars lumograph pencil which is PURE black its really weird to use there is loads of resistance to it but any way thanks for the comment hope it helps!

Wonderfully detailed as usual, the sword's my favourite bit!
Also, what do you use for intense blacks on bigger surfaces, such as backgrounds? Because I can't rid myself of the dreaded graphite reflection
